I'm 27 and I'm in the military currently stationed in Virginia, I leave tomorrow to report back to duty and was trying to take my 17 year old sister and 25 year old girlfriend to the epic skating rink. Which is crazy because most teenagers that come to a skating rink just bring a couple bucks in cash and a phone to avoid items being lost ,stolen or broken.

Having to be 17 is alright, but In addition you have to have valid id (which is also fine) but in addition to that, you have to have your physical government identification card/passport/driver's license with you AND A SCANNABLE PHOTO IS NOT ADEQUATE. I don't recommend wasting your time driving here to have a nice family outing on any given Friday, because you have to be 17+ to get in so anybody in your party under 17 will be turned away even if accompanied and chaperoned by adults. UNFORTUNATELY I HAVE TO LEAVE AT LEAST ONE STAR OTHERWISE I'D LEAVE 0 705 or at I apologize for any inconvenience this policy has caused you and your daughter. If you would like to discuss this further you can reach me directly at 95 ext. I have reached out to a few of the school districts in our area to see about them putting the student's birthdate on their ID but I have no idea if they will move forward with this request or not. All I can tell you for certain is that the age restriction for this night will never be lower than 16 years of age. I am sorry that we are being forced to uphold strict guidelines right now in order to protect our business as a whole and there may be a way for us to ease up in the future but for now this is what we must do. We stopped allowing guests to buy tickets online for Friday nights for this reason but there are always kinks when changes are made.

We also tried to blast the update all over social media but if you don't follow us, you never saw it and you wouldn't have known. It is however posted when you click on our Friday night session along with a detailed description of the change and the approved forms of ID which is where I thought everyone would look so that one is on me and you have my most sincere apology. Honestly, it hadn't even crossed my mind to list it there. You are absolutely correct about the fact that it is not listed on our rack card or on the facts page and I am making this change now. Without these changes we ran the risk of being shut down completely and I could not risk that happening. It is always our top priority to make sure we are providing a safe environment for all who enter our facility and for a brief time a handful of our younger guests were making that very difficult so drastic measures had to be taken. Sadly a few younger guests ruined things for everyone and we were forced to make changes to this session for this reason.

These changes that you are irritated about are relatively new as they only went into effect in May of this year so we are still figuring them out.

I can completely understand your frustration as I myself did not have a government ID until I was 18 years old. I am sorry to hear that you had a rough time trying to attend our Friday night skate session. These reviews are how we grow as a business and if things are never brought to my attention, I am unable to make changes where necessary. First off, thank you for taking time to write a review, even if it wasn't favorable.
